On November 25th 2017, National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) organized the 2nd civil service promotion examination for administrative employees from 28 provinces, 9 ministries and departments which is to be held from November 25th to November 26th 2017.

Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan emphasized the significance of the civil service promotion examination in standardizing and improving civil servants to build competent and qualified civil servants who are capable to effectively perform public duties, serve people and contribute to the country development. Enhancing civil servants is an objective set by the administrative reform 2011-2020 in Vietnam. The results of the examination are used to assess competence of civil servants and place them to suitable positions.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Thang stated the promotion examination is one of the most important activities in civil servant management and to ensure that civil servants meet the requirements of their positions and improve efficiency of the civil service and public service delivery. It is the first promotion examination for administrative employees organized under the Law on Public employees 2010 (into effect in 2012) and Decree No. 29/2012 / ND-CP dated 12 April 2012 on recruitment, employment and management of public employees. The examination consists four tests: General knowledge Test; Professional knowledge and skill Test; Informatics Test; and Foreign Language Test. He requested strict compliance with the exam regulations.
