On May 22nd 2018, State Management Review celebrated 25 years of publishing the first issue of the Review.
Presented in the ceremony were representatives of ministries and agencies: Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Minister of Home Affairs; Mr. Hoang Vinh Bao, Vice Minister of Information and Communication; Mr. Tran Ba Dung, Standing Committee of Vietnam Journalists Association; representatives from the Central Committee for Communication and Education, the Department of Press, Ministry of Public Security, central and local training institutions, local government agencies. Editors-in-chief and Vice editors-in-chief of many press agencies attended the event. Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan, NAPA President; NAPA Vice Presidents; former NAPA Presidents and Vice Presidents; NAPA staff and lecturers; collaborators of the Review were presented in the ceremony.
Dr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Editor-in-chief of State Management Review mentioned the development of the Review over the last 25 years (from 1993 to 2018) and the role of State Management Review as a research unit and the voice of NAPA. State Management Review is an academic journal of administrative sciences and public management. The Review has been published monthly since 1998 and 268 issues have been published with the number of pages ranging from 100 to 120 pages per issue. Articles of the Review reflected theoretical issues and research findings in administrative sciences, and practical issues of public management and public sector reform inside and outside the country. They also provided policy recommendations to the State and the Communist Party of Vietnam concerning the country renovation and public administration reform. State Management Review has contributed to the public servant training and research activities of NAPA. The Review has been considered as a valuable source material for study and research for students and scholars not only from NAPA but also from other domestic and international training institutions. Moreover, State Management Review is a forum for researchers, professionals, lecturers and students to discuss different issues related to the field of study as well as publish research results of Ph.D. candidates. The State Management Review has been recognized and awarded medals and certificates including the Medal of Labor Third Grade, Certificates of Merit awarded by the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, President of Hochiminh National Academy of Politics, President of the National Academy of Public Administration.
Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan, NAPA President appreciated the effort of State Management Review over the past 25 years. He emphasized that the Review has well performed its role as a research unit and the voice of NAPA. The Review has also contributed to the development of NAPA to make the institution a national leading training center of public administration, leadership and management of public officials, and human resource, and consultancy provider for the State and Party on public administration and public management. Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan also suggested the State Management Review to further develop in order to meet the standards of modern journalism through content innovation, quality articles, various channels of transmitting information, layout of publications. It is required to develop a network of collaborators as well as finalize Online State Management Review and to promote circulation. In addition, it is necessary to expand international cooperation, enhance the human resource training of staff of the Review.
Speaking as a regular collaborator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Nguyen Tuyen, member of the Central Council of Theories, former Vietnam Ambassador to Saudi Arab appreciated renovation of the Review, especially in quality. He expected the Review to reflect more both theoretical and practical issues of public management in the context of integration and promote research with involvement of collaborators. On this occasion, Minister of Home Affairs sent a bouquet of flowers to congratulate the State Management Review and awarded the Certificates of Merit to the Review and Dr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Editor-in-chief.
