On May 21st 2017, National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) organized the 58 anniversary of NAPA at NAPA’s Hue campus Presented in the ceremony were Nguyen Thai Son, Chair, Provincial Party Committee of Propaganda and Education of Thua Thien Hue province; Dinh Khac Dinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Thua Thien Hue province; representatives from provincial departments, units of Thua Thien Hue province; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trieu Van Cuong, Vice Minister of Home Affairs Ministry, in charge of NAPA; Dr. Le Nhu Thanh, NAPA Permanent Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Kiem Thanh, NAPA Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Van Hanh, NAPA Vice President; Dr. Pham Quang Huy, NAPA Former Vice President; NAPA staff and lecturers.
In the ceremony, NAPA received the congratulatory bouquets from Provincial People’s Council, Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial Department of Public Security, universities and enterprises in the central region.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trieu Van Cuong reviewed the history of NAPA development over 58 years. He emphasized NAPA’s role as a national leading center for civil servants training, research and policy consulting.
NAPA is the only training center given the mandate to provide high ranking expert training. NAPA also delivers other trainings for civil servants including rank-based training and position-based training as well as degree training programs (bachelors, masters and doctors). It has contributed to the development of civil servant of the country.
NAPA is developing its staff and lecturers in both quantity and quality. There are 2 professors, 26 Associate Professor, 74 Doctors, 324 Masters; many lecturers were trained overseas.
NAPA also established an international cooperation network in Asia, Europe, Australasia and Americas, cooperating with many universities and research centers specializing in public administration, public governance as well as public policy.
For the contributions to the development cause of the country, NAPA was awarded by the State many honorable titles and medals, especially Ho Chi Minh Medal in 2014. Vice Minister of Home Affairs ministry encouraged NAPA staff and lecturers to continue their effort to develop NAPA in future, focusing these specific points:
First, establishing a long term strategy to become a center in public administration and public governance training at regional and international level;
Second, improving quality of NAPA’s lectures, researchers
Third, renovating the training curricula for public servants, focusing on performance improvement and professional ethics;
Forth, enhancing research capacity in order to promote applicability of research projects, to provide theoretical foundation for building a professional, integrity administration serving people and business;
Fifth, improving international cooperation in order to support training and research activities; developing joint training programs, joint research projects; and establishing new cooperation with potential international partners.;
Sixth, mobilizing various resources, modernizing library and other facilities, improving working style and NAPA’s operation and services;
On behalf of NAPA central region campus, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huyen, lecturer of the teaching division of Basic Theories and State Management delivered a speech and presented flowers to congratulate NAPA leaders.
In the anniversary, staff and lecturers from all campuses of NAPA including Hanoi campus, Ho Chi Minh City campus, Central Region campus as well as Tay Nguyen campus showed many outstanding art performance which created a joyful atmosphere.
