At the invitation of Assoc. Prof. Trieu Van Cuong, Vice Minister of Home Affairs, in charge of National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) operation, the officials delegation of The Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) in Singapore with Mr Iwai Masaya as the head of the delegation visited National Academy of Public Administration in the afternoon of February 23th, 2016.
Dr. Le Nhu Thanh, Permanent Vice President of NAPA chaired the meeting. From NAPA side, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Hai, Dean of Faculty of Organization and Personnel Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Chi Mai, former Dean of Post Graduate Department, MA. Pham Thi Quynh Hoa, General Director of International Cooperation Department and other staffs of the International Cooperation also attended this meeting.
At the meeting, Dr. Le Nhu Thanh has highly appreciated the relationship of traditional cooperation between NAPA and CLAIR and emphasized the importance role of local government issues which attracted many researchers and practical experts in Vietnam, especially while Vietnam has enacted the Local Government law in 2014. Dr. Le Nhu Thanh believed that local government will be the mutual field which two sides can cooperate in the future.
Mr. Iwai Masaya, Deputy Executive Director of CLAIR has highly appreciated NAPA for the meeting, and suggested to continued developing the relationship between the two sides. On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Iwai Masaya expressed his desire to learn the operation of the local government in Vietnam to provide information to Japanese local governments, it will helppromoting the expansion of exchanges and cooperation between Japanese local governments and local Asian countries in general and Vietnam in particular.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed together about the system and structure of local government in the context of administrative reform and innovation situation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Hai, Dean of Faculty of Organization and Personnel Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Chi Mai, former Dean of Post Graduate Department presented and answered questions for the delegations on issues related to local government and administrative reform of their concern.
