On October 13, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong – Vice President of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), and Dr. Alex Bello Brillantes Jr – Secretary-General of the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA), held a teleconference to discuss the organization of the international workshop “Smart City Development: Roles of the Government”.
Attending the meeting were Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Hoa – Head of the International Cooperation Department (ICD); Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Cuc – Deputy Director, ICD; ICD and EROPA staff.
The international workshop “Smart City Development: Roles of the Government” will be organized by NAPA in collaboration with EROPA and the University of Canberra (Australia) on October 19, 2022, to clarify the concepts, development trends, and basic criteria of a sustainable smart city as well as the current contexts, opportunities, and challenges in smart city development in Viet Nam; the role of government from central to local levels in sustainable smart city development; international experiences in sustainable smart city development and solutions to promote the role and capacity of the government in sustainable smart city development.
The workshop participants will include delegates and scientists from NAPA, the University of Canberra, and EROPA member organizations. The workshop marks the beginning of a series of events organized by Viet Nam (the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Academy of Public Administration) – the host of the 2023 EROPA Conference.
At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong and Dr. Alex Bello Brillantes Jr agreed on the contents related to the organization of the workshop, such as opening and closing content, sub-themes, as well as guests and speakers of the workshop.
The two-hour meeting ended with fruitful results.
