The National Academy of Public Administration works with the Canadian Embassy to Viet Nam

On May 21, 2024, at NAPA Headquarters in Ha Noi, the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) held a working session with Mr. Brian Allemekinders, Counselor, Head of Cooperation of the Canadian Embassy to Viet Nam. On behalf of NAPA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, NAPA President, chaired the meeting.

At the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, NAPA President, welcomed the delegation from the Canadian Embassy to Viet Nam and shared the results of past cooperation as well as proposed future directions for cooperation. This included updating the information and key content during the development of the project proposals that Canada will support for Viet Nam and NAPA as well as discussing and updating the timeline for project development and approval processes on both sides.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien also emphasized the priority and content of the cooperation chosen by NAPA to jointly develop a detailed proposal with the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), in line with Canada’s funding priorities.

Based on several bilateral workings sessions, NAPA and CBIE are developing a logical framework for the cooperation project.

At the meeting, Mr. Brian Allemekinders, Counselor, Head of Cooperation of the Canadian Embassy to Viet Nam, expressed his joy at the opportunity to work with NAPA and expressed interest in NAPA’s ideas and potential for short-term, medium-term and long-term cooperation. He highly appreciated Viet Nam’s flexible face-to-face and online training methods for female leaders. He also hopes that the collaborative project will achieve its goals of increasing the number of modern and innovative leaders using effective and comprehensive approaches to local governance in Viet Nam’s provinces.
