In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong, NAPA Vice President, emphasized: In the current period, the internationalization of higher education plays a crucial role in improving the quality of education and providing society with global citizens. The internationalization goal that the STRIVE Project aims for is to “expand the scope of activities of the unit based on connecting an international network” and “receive appropriate support in accordance with international law.” This is also one of the top priority strategies in the development orientation of the National Academy of Public Administration. Participation as a member and through the activities of the project presents a valuable opportunity for NAPA to realize and modernize international cooperation, fostering the development of a network connecting EU and Vietnamese higher education institutions.

After nine months of implementing the STRIVE Project, NAPA has received valuable insights from its international partners, especially in exploring the Erasmus+ cooperation support fund of the European Union. NAPA has gained a clear understanding of the KA1 activities group – focused on faculty/student exchanges, and the KA2 activities group – aimed at project proposals to enhance capacity. Internationalization is undoubtedly necessary and essential in the ongoing development process of a higher education institution, aiming to improve the teaching quality of faculty and the quality of graduates.

The workshop is scheduled to take place over two days, from September 10 to 11, 2024. The discussions during the workshop will focus on two main issues: first, understanding the objectives, content, and methodology of the capacity-building activities in the field of higher education; second, continuing to develop a detailed plan to implement the tasks of the STRIVE Project over the next nine months.

The STRIVE Project meets the objectives of the Erasmus+ CBHE activities, facilitating Vietnamese higher education institutions’ access to opportunities from the Erasmus+ cooperation support fund, thereby narrowing the gap between European and Vietnamese higher education institutions. The project aims for international cooperation, improving the quality of content preparation, planning, and monitoring international project reports, while also building capacity to support the exchange activities of staff and students.
