NAPA Students Receive Scholarships from the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts and the World University Service Germany (WUS)

On November 28, 2024, at the Temple of Literature in Ha Noi, the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and the Arts and the World University Service Germany (WUS), in collaboration with Viet Nam’s Ministry of Education and Training, held a ceremony to award scholarships to outstanding students from Ha Noi and other provinces.

Within the framework of cooperation between the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts, and WUS, since 2018, NAPA students with excellent academic achievements have been honored to receive these prestigious scholarships annually.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Boris Rhein, Minister-President of Hesse, Germany; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Vice Minister of Education and Training; representatives from the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Education and Training; Dr. Bui Cong Tho, Head of the Hessen Office in Viet Nam; leaders of the Viet Nam-Germany Friendship Association; leaders of the Viet Nam Association for Promoting Education; and 93 outstanding students from Ha Noi and other provinces who were awarded scholarships.

From NAPA, representatives from the Department of International Cooperation, and the Department of Graduate Training Management, attended the ceremony, along with three students who were honored to receive the scholarships for the 2024–2025 academic year: Ms. Hoang Thanh Hao (Party Building and State Governance major, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences); Ms. Mai Thi Kieu Diem (Human Resources Management major, Faculty of Human Resources Management); Ms. Vi Thi Cuc Nhuoc (State Management major, Faculty of Administrative Sciences).

The scholarship recipients were selected based on their academic excellence, with a GPA of 7.5 or higher, exemplary academic achievements, good conduct, and dedication, and special circumstances, such as being from remote or disadvantaged areas, ethnic minorities, or under social policy categories. Each student received a certificate from the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and the Arts (Germany) and a scholarship worth 216 Euros (approximately 5,800,000 VND).

The scholarship program by the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and the Arts and the World University Service Germany (WUS) has been running continuously in Viet Nam for 35 years, awarding scholarships to approximately 200-250 outstanding students nationwide each year. This program not only supports students in overcoming academic challenges but also encourages them to engage in community activities, spreading compassion and deeply meaningful human values.

In speeches at the ceremony, representatives from invited organizations and experts highlighted the importance of the scholarship program and expressed their desire for its continued growth. They emphasized its role in strengthening the long-standing educational cooperation between Germany and Viet Nam.
