As part of the project “Strengthening Internationalization of Vietnamese Emerging Universities – STRIVE,” on December 9, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong, Vice President of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), and the NAPA delegation attended the opening of the international workshop on the topic “Capacity building on project design and management of Erasmus+”, organized by Phu Xuan University in Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province.
The workshop was attended by the STRIVE project consortium, including AlmaLaurea Inter-University Consortium, Italy – the international coordinating unit; Hanoi University – the national coordinating unit; University of Évora, Portugal; National Academy of Public Administration; Quang Ninh University of Industry (QUI); Phu Xuan University – Hue (PXU); and the University of Tuscia (Italy), which participated online.
In his remarks at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong, NAPA Vice President, stated that NAPA always prioritizes implementing activities to enhance capacity through its functional units and faculties, from the leaders to faculty members and staff. This is done by sending staff to participate in international workshops organized by NAPA; attending international workshops organized by external units; and sending lecturers and staff to participate in some training courses to improve English language proficiency, etc. According to the project plan and implementation schedule, through the Quality Report for the first phase, which was released in the 9th month of the project, NAPA, as a project member, has fully completed its tasks and met the deadlines for Work Package 1 (Project Coordination and Quality Control), Work Package 2 (Overview on Eramus+ Program in the Higher Education Sector), and part of the tasks in Work Package 5 (Project Dissemination and Communication).
At this workshop, the international and national coordinating units continued to train project members on the topic “Capacity building on project design and management”, which is part of Work Package 3, and exchanged and discussed issues related to the task of maintaining the “Sustainability of Erasmus+ Project,” which is part of Work Package 6, scheduled for implementation in November 2026. Through the activities carried out at the workshop, project members expressed confidence that internationalization efforts will develop and have a strong and wide-reaching impact on faculty and students at each member institution, contributing to the quality of teaching and the employability of graduates.
The STRIVE project aligns with the objectives of the Erasmus+ CBHE (Capacity Building in Higher Education) program, aiming to create opportunities for higher education institutions in Viet Nam to access funding from the Erasmus+ cooperation fund and to reduce the gap between European and Vietnamese higher education institutions. The project focuses on international collaboration, enhancing the quality of content preparation, implementation of plans, and monitoring reports for Erasmus+ international projects while also building capacity to support staff and student exchange activities.
