He pointed out, “Emulation means loving the country, and to love the country, one must engage in emulation. Those who engage in emulation are the ones who love the country the most.”; “With the indomitable spirit and endless force, with patriotism and the resolute will of our people and army, we can win, and we will win.”
According to the Prime Minister, “Uncle Ho’s call is like a summons to the country, which has encouraged, inspired, and motivated the entire Party, people, and army to promote our patriotic tradition and union spirit of solidarity and self-reliance, overcoming all difficulties and hardships, taking many innovative initiatives in labor, production, and combat, and making practical contributions to the cause of national construction and defense.” Since then, patriotic emulation has truly become widespread, from lowland to mountainous areas, borders, and islands, from urban to rural areas, with the active involvement of individuals ranging from the elderly to young children, and has yielded excellent results. This is a significant motivation for the Vietnamese revolution to progress from one victory to another.”
During nearly 40 years of renovation, emulation movements have flourished, diversifying in many disciplines, engaging different social classes, possessing strong appeal, and spreading widely in society. The emulation movement has closely followed the political responsibilities of the entire country, as well as the specific and practical contents of each agency, location, and unit. Many beneficial topics, initiatives, effective solutions, good models, and efficient methods of operation have been widely replicated, resulting in significant advantages to the state and society.
Prominent among these movements are “Good labor, creative labor”; “Emulation to win”; “For the national security”; “Good teaching, good learning”, “Skillful mass mobilization”, “Nationwide joint efforts to build a new countryside”; “Unity of the people to build a cultured life”, “Integration and development of Vietnamese enterprises”, and “Nationwide solidarity for the poor – leaving no one behind”; “Nationwide unity, joint efforts, and solidarity in preventing and overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic”, “Promoting the development of synchronous, modern infrastructure and practicing efficiency and anti-wastefulness”.
These emulation movements have generated tremendous material and spiritual power, as well as mobilized the potential and strengths of the entire nation, contributing to the effective accomplishment of our people’s political responsibilities during each revolutionary phase. As a result, they have contributed to the promotion of socioeconomic development, the strengthening of national defense and security, the prevention of wasteful corruption, the preservation of independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and the active integration of extensive, comprehensive, substantive, and effective international relations, so that “our country has never had such opportunity, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today.”
From within the competitive movements, numerous exemplary and outstanding models have emerged in various fields. Up to now, there have been hundreds of thousands of exemplary models in different fields across the entire country.
