Within the framework of cooperation between Vietnam National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) and the BRAC University Bangladesh, a delegation led by PhD. Nasiruddin Ahmed, Dean, BRAC University as the Head of delegation and participants from Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Pakistan conducted a study tour on public administration for students of Master Program in Governance and Development of BRAC University at NAPA branch campus in Ho Chi Minh City and some provinces in the Mekong Delta after a training course held in Hanoi and Quang Ninh from 25 – 28 February 2020. Accordingly, under the authorization of NAPA President, PhD. Ha Quang Thanh – Permanent Deputy Director General of NAPA Branch Campus in Ho Chi Minh City held the closing ceremony and granted certificates to the participants on February 26, 2020.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ha Quang Thanh emphasized the significance and importance of the training course and highly appreciated the study results on public administration in Vietnam of the participants. During 10 days of the course, the participants were introduced about Vietnam’s political system, administrative system as well as achievements and challenges of administrative reform, civil service reform in the country, the trends and objectives of administrative reforms to build a professional, responsible, dynamic, efficient and transparent administrative system to meet the people’s satisfaction for the state administrative agencies’s services. At the same time, they were also presented about the role of the Government of Vietnam in socio-economic development in the context of regional and international integration as well as the experience of Vietnamese Government in corruption prevention, recruitment, employment, and management of public servants in Vietnam and experience in planning and implementing policies such as urban development, tourism development. The study tour to Quang Ninh province, provinces in Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh city had brought the participants opportunities to learn about public administration reform and the provinces’s experience on attracting investment in tourism. It not only helped the participants to improve their working capacity, contributing to their country’s development but also strengthened the friendship and development cooperation between Vietnam – Bangladesh in general and NAPA – BRAC University in particular.
Also at the Closing Ceremony, Dr. Ha Quang Thanh presented training course certificates and souvenirs from NAPA President to the course participants.
On behalf of the members of the delegation, Dr. Nasiruddin Ahmed, Dean, BRAC University Bangladesh expressed his gratitude to NAPA, its branch campus in Ho Chi Minh City and its experienced lecturers who had delivered much knowledge to the participants and conveyed his sincere thanks to NAPA faculties and departments for supporting and creating the best conditions for the participants during their study in Vietnam. He highly appreciated the participants’ effort in learning valuable knowledge and experience during the course and expected that they would apply what they had learned into their practical work in their countries.
The closing ceremony was going in a joyful, exciting and friendly atmosphere, which further promoted the cooperation between NAPA – BRAC University as well as the friendship between Vietnam and Bangladesh. After the Closing Ceremony, the delegation continued their field trip to a number of provinces in Mekong Delta before the end of the training program in Vietnam.
