Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang worked with the National Academy of Public Administration on cooperation with Singaporean partners

On the afternoon of June 19, 2023, the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) conducted a meeting session on cooperation with Singaporean partners. The working session was chaired by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang.

Attended the meeting, on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) were: Mr. Chu Tuan Tu, Director General of Department of International Cooperation; Ms. Tran Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Director General of Department of International Cooperation; and Ms. Nguyen Xuan Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Civil Servants, along with civil servants of the Department of International Cooperation and Department of Civil Servants.

On the side of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), there were: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, NAPA President; Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Hoa, Director, Department of International Cooperation; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Hau, Chief of Office; Dr. Bui Huy Tung, Director, Department of Refresher Training Management; Dr. Tran Thi Lan Anh and Dr. Tran Dai Hai, Deputy Directors, Department of International Cooperation; Ms. Le Thi Tuyet, Head of Division for Planning and General Affairs, Department of International Cooperation.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang affirmed the working session aimed to promote international cooperation in the public service which contributed to the improvement of MOHA prestige and position and met its requirement for integration and development. Bilateral and multilateral cooperation allows to acquire effective public management methods and public service best practices and facilitate their application.

NAPA is obliged, the Deputy Minister said, to “build a contingent of civil servants and public employees to perform international cooperation in particular, and develop MOHA cadres, civil servants, and public employees in general with political stance and strengthened capacity to meet working requirements.”

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien praised the practicality and results of the NAPA programs for cooperation with Singaporean partners and set the requirements for the future programs for cooperation between NAPA and Temasek, CSC, and CIG.

Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang, gave orientation and requirements and requested NAPA to actively develop international cooperation in the region and in the world, improve the quality of its policy and legislation consultancy, organization and implementation of international cooperation tasks. In addition, it is necessary to promote the development and improvement of the contingent of cadres, civil servants, and public employees; promote communication on international cooperation and international integration; apply information technology and digital transformation in operation; and mobilize domestic and foreign resources for international cooperation.
