From March 28th to March 30th, 2023, MOTIVE Project Meeting with the theme “Capacity Building on Survey Reporting” was held in Graz, Austria. The delegation of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), led by Dr. Le Thanh Huyen, General Director of the Department of Graduate Training Management, attended the meeting.
In the opening session, Dr. Le Thanh Huyen introduced the National Academy of Public Administration as a special-class non-business unit, a national center performing the training functions for Vietnamese cadres, civil servants, and public employees with a focus on public administration and state management. She also affirmed NAPA’s strong commitment to the MOTIVE Project.
During the meeting sessions, the research team of the Project consortium in Viet Nam presented the survey results in the first phase, the reports on the employment trend monitoring portal system, and the sustainability of the Project. The European partners of the Project also presented objective assessments of the survey results as well as recommended solutions to improve the quality of the analysis results in the first phase. The second pilot report will be completed and presented at the final conference scheduled to take place in September 2023 in Viet Nam.
Graduates’ employment is one of the important indicators of the training quality of higher education institutions. Results on the employment status of graduates are used to improve the training quality, and Vietnamese higher education institutions can refer to such results to assist the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (one of the MOTIVE Project partners) in formulating appropriate higher education policies.
During their visit to the Republic of Austria, the NAPA delegation also worked with Austrian partners to promote new cooperation activities. Specifically, the delegation met and discussed with FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences about the possibility of implementing the faculty and student exchange program, with expected funding sources from the Eramus+ sponsored by the European Union and other sources. The delegation also worked with the University of Graz to promote regional partnership, cooperation in research in the fields of law, public administration, and administrative reform, and academic exchange of experts.
NAPA and other stakeholders will actively discuss cooperation in master’s training programs delivered in English and international program accreditation to agree on an implementation roadmap.
