From June 23 to June 26, 2020, NAPA was participating the first ever IIAS e-conference with the theme Public Governance for Climate Action after COVID-19. The IIAS e-Conference was held to create an opportunity for networks of international scholars of public administration to rally together virtually at a time where they used to get together face-to-face.
The IIAS e-Conference consisted of not only webinars but also a full array of sessions, meetings like in a regular conference and programming has been done to suit different time zones as the networks extend globally. There were 30 sessions, focusing on the topics of public governance in the new era; policy integration for public governance; sustainability of climate action governance; resilience and disaster management; accounting and accountability for resilience and climate action in the public sector; public-private partnerships for climate action; digital practices, solutions to respond to the COVID-19, and lessons learned; changing the principles of public administration; sustainable development goals; local government innovations.
Participating in IIAS e-conference 2020 is an opportunity for NAPA to show its active role in the international community of organizations, scholars, and practitioners of public administration, lecturers and administrators. At the same time, NAPA’s lecturers and administrators could exchange practices in public administration and develop their capacity of working in an international environment. Participation in international conferences is especially significant when NAPA is making efforts to realize its development strategy for the period 2020-2030 and vision to 2045 which has been approved by the Minister of Home Affairs. NAPA aims to serve as a national leading training institution with high reputation, a regional training and research center for public administration, leadership and management, and public policies.
The International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) was established in 1930 as an international non-profit organization with scientific purposes. The IIAS is a federation of member states, national sections and academic research centers jointly elaborating public administration solutions to the policy challenges of the day. It is a worldwide professional association in the field of governance, producing and disseminating relevant knowledge on public governance, and accrediting both academic and professional training programs in line with standards of best practices in public management. The IIAS is also a holding of autonomous international and regional institutions (IASIA, EGPA, AGPA & LAGPA). NAPA is a member of IASIA (International Association of School and Institutes of Administration).
