NAPA receives Finland University delegation

In the framework of training cooperation between the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) and Finland University and University of Tampere, on November 9th, 2016, Dr. Le Nhu Thanh – NAPA Permanent Vice President welcomed the delegation led by Dr. Pekka Saavalainen, CEO, Finland University. The delegation also had members from University of Tampere.

The reception witnessed discussion about joint training activities between NAPA and University of Tampere. Both training institutions appreciated current cooperation and committed to the completion of the 3rd and 4th joint training program in Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Finance Management.

Dr. Le Nhu Thanh also suggested expanding the cooperation relationship between the two institutions by improving the competency for NAPA lecturers and staff, specifically:

  • During the joint training program, Finland lecturers spend a minimum of 10% their allotted time in Vietnam for capacity building activities for NAPA staff and lecturer such as training of trainers, support in training program design, co-lecture activities and teaching material development;
  • Finland lecturer participate in short training courses for senior officials in NAPA campuses in Hanoi and other regions;
  • Finland University, University of Tampere provide support for NAPA in organizing study visit in Finland for NAPA students;
  • Developing joint research programs, comparative studies, seminars, workshops in Finland and Vietnam on the topics of mutual interest;
  • Exploring potentials in joint undergraduate training programs
  • Exchanging faculties between the two institutions

Mr. Pekka Saavalainen appreciated NAPA’s suggestions which aligned with the function, mission and the development orientation in international cooperation of Finland University. He will discuss with University of Tampere in order to respond to NAPA’s suggestions. Finally, He also believed that it would contribute to the development of the cooperation relationship between the parties.
