On March 15th 2017, Dr. Le Nhu Thanh, Permanent Vice President of National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) received Laos delegation led by Dr. Khamsen Thamavong, Deputy Director General of Personnel Training Department, Laos Party Central Committee for Organization. Presented in the reception were Mr. Khamsinh Duangvandi, Political Counsellor; Ms. Thongmy Duongsacda, Head of Culture and Education Division of Laos Embassy to Vietnam; Mr. Viengphet Senthong, Head of Division, Personnel Training Department, Laos Party Central Committee for Organization; NAPA staff and faculty.
In the reception, a NAPA International Cooperation Department presented a report on training cooperation related to public administration and public management. Both sides appreciated the result of the training cooperation between Vietnam and Laos which has been promoted for 18 years based on the signed Agreement of Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. NAPA and Laos delegation agreed on the following directions of cooperation:
- Expanding cooperation in position-based training, public duty based training such as policy formulation, implementation and evaluation skills, human resource management skills, and leadership skills.
- Organizing study visits to Laos to survey training needs of Laos students and to gain more insights on the socio-economic development of the country which will help to develop an appropriate training program and curriculum to meet their training needs.
- Cooperating in training of trainers
- Organizing training courses on Vietnamese language for public administration for Laos students at NAPA
- Developing reference materials for Laos students and Vietnamese lecturers involved in NAPA training programs for Laos students
- Developing a mechanism for coordination management, process and support of Laos students at NAPA
- Establishing Alumni of Laos students at NAPA
After the reception with NAPA leader, the delegation met and talked with Laos students at NAPA.
