On September 12th, 2017, Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan, NAPA President welcomed the delegation of USAID Vietnam led by Dr. Andrew Green. Presented at the meeting were, from USAID side: Mr. Mike Bradow, Asia Regional Coordinator, USAID Center of Excellence for Democracy, Human Rights & Governance; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Senior Programme Manager, USAID Vietnam; from NAPA side: Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Hoa, General Director, International Cooperation Department and representatives from General Office, Faculty of Public Servant Training.
At the reception, the representatives from USAID Vietnam wanted to know about NAPA’s willingess in USAID’s future cooperation and assistance activities; NAPA’s training programs for senior civil service (including the training programs for high ranking experts, senior experts, public leaders and local administrators); and the roles of NAPA in public administrative reform.
NAPA President introduced functions, missions, visions and development orientation of NAPA in the coming years as well as its role in training public officials and public administration reform. He also shared with the delegation NAPA’s efforts in the revonation of training curricula and courseware and improvement of lecturers. Specifically, NAPA provides leadership training programs, training courses for high-ranking government officials with international visiting lecturers, and will deliver a training program for resource public managers in the near future. NAPA President expected to establish cooperation with U.S partners and exchange experience in training in order to make changes in NAPA’s training quality and capacity, which helps NAPA to contribute to the training of public officials, especially public leaders and managers for the ongoing administrative reform and country’s renovation in Vietnam at present.
