On January 15, 2021, in Hanoi, the National Academy of Public Administration solemnly held the opening ceremony of doctoral and master training, second cohort in 2020 which was live-streamed to NAPA Branch Campuses in Hue city, in Tay Nguyen, and in Ho Chi Minh City. Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan, NAPA President attended and gave the opening speech.
Presented at the opening ceremony were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong, NAPA Vice President; Dr. Ha Quang Thanh, Acting Director General, NAPA Branch Campus in Ho Chi Minh City; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Mai, Director, Department of Graduate Training Management; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Hau, Chief of the Office; Dr. Le Toan Thang, Dean, Faculty of State Management of Economic Affairs and Public Finance; Dr. Vu Duy Duan, Director, Department of Planning – Finance; leaders and representatives of NAPA faculties and departments and 410 master students and 10 new doctoral students who have been admitted for the second cohort of 2020 at 04 NAPA campuses.

There were 460 applicants for NAPA’s master training of the second cohort in 2020 ( 136 applicants from Hanoi; 23 from Hue; 76 from Tay Nguyen; 225 from Ho Chi Minh City) in five majors of Public Management, Public Policy, Finance – Banking, Economic Management, Constitutional and Administrative Law; and 10 applicants for the doctoral training in Public Management, including 08 Vietnamese and 02 Lao applicants. Applicants had to take admission examinations which were held in a serious, objective manner, complying with the legal regulations and 410 new master students and 10 new doctoral students have been admitted and recognized by NAPA President’ decision.
At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Mai has announced the Decisions on admission of doctoral and master students, the Decision on opening of the training, receiving foreign students.

In the opening speech at the ceremony, Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan warmly welcomed 410 new master students and 10 new doctoral students who successfully passed the master admission exams and doctoral admission for NAPA’s second training cohort in 2020. He stated that postgraduate training and refresher training of cadres, civil servants and public employees are ones of the key tasks under Decision No. 05/2018/QD-TTg dated January 23, 2018 by the Prime Minister stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of NAPA, making an important contribution to the providing of highly qualified human resources to better serve the activities of state management. The National Academy of Public Administration has become a reliable place for postgraduate training; after graduation, masters and doctors have well applied the expertise gained during their study into work performance. Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan expected new master, doctoral students to strictly follow the training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and NAPA, manage time for research and study, and produce research products of quality and within the timeline.

Representing the new master, doctoral students at the opening ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Tien, a new doctoral student, who is currently Deputy General Director, Department of Information Security, Ministry of Information and Communication and Ms. Vo Phuong Lien, a new master student, who is currently Vice Chairperson, Vietnam District Women’s Union, Ho Chi Minh City, expressed their pride to become post graduate students of NAPA, a national center for training of cadres, civil servants and public employees for the political system as a whole and providing high-quality human resources for society. They expressed their commitment to study, research in accordance with the training regulations./.
