On August 1, 2024, at the Administrative Center of Da Nang City, the National Academy of Public Administration – Quang Nam Campus (NAPA QNA), in collaboration with the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City, held the opening ceremony of the Training Course on Public Service Culture and Ethics. Attendees at the ceremony included Dr. Tran Dinh Chin, Deputy Director of the NAPA QNA; Mr. Le Phu Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City; Ms. Duong Truc Tien, Deputy Head of the Division of Civil Servants and Public Employees, Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City; representatives of the leadership from various units of NAPA QNA; and 100 trainees consisting of officials, civil servants, and public employees from departments, agencies, and the People’s Committees of districts in Da Nang City.
Following the announcement of the agenda and the introduction of attendees, Mr. Nguyen Quang, Deputy Director of the Training Center in Da Nang, announced Decision No. 129/QĐ-PHQN dated July 29, 2024, by the Director of NAPA QNA. The course is scheduled from August 1, 2024, to August 3, 2024, with a total of 32 periods covering 05 specialized topics divided into 02 parts:
- Part I: Knowledge update, supplementing knowledge on public service culture, public service ethics; public service responsibilities and administrative discipline; and some content related to the implementation of Directive No. 34-CT/TU of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee, etc.
- Part II: Skills in public service protocol; administrative communication.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Phu Nguyen stated that the training course was organized with the aim of enhancing public service culture, public service ethics, and compliance with the code of conduct and administrative discipline for officials, civil servants, and public employees, thereby contributing to building a friendly workplace environment and meeting the requirements for improving the quality of the public workforce in the current period.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Dinh Chin emphasized that public service culture and ethics play a crucial role in the process of building a democratic, professional, modern administration that serves the people. The purpose of the course is to equip, update, and enhance the knowledge of public service culture and ethics, contributing to shaping the behavior, working style, and ethical standards of the public workforce while also ensuring professionalism, responsibility, dynamism, transparency, and effectiveness in the performance of public duties.
Dr. Tran Dinh Chin urged that during the course, trainees should strictly comply with regulations, concentrate on their studies, proactively research, and actively engage in discussions to clarify issues related to the course content and practical issues connected to their work duties. Trainees should plan and allocate their time reasonably to ensure full participation and successful completion of the course. Meanwhile, lecturers and related units of the Campus should closely monitor the class’s progress, coordinate the teaching schedule, and create a friendly and serious learning environment to achieve the best outcomes for the course.
