On January 10th 2018, National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) organized a conference to review the 2017 training activities as well as set the orientation and tasks for 2018.
Presented in the conference were Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan, NAPA President, Mr. Doan Cuong, Director of Planning and Finance Department, Ministry of Home Affairs; NAPA Vice Presidents: Dr. Vu Thanh Xuan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong; NAPA staff and lecturers.
Speaking at the opening session, Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan emphasized that the training for public servants is one of NAPA main activities. Training renovation and promotion are increasingly urgent. He suggested that each department and faculty should review their own training and NAPA’s training as well and suggest ideas for innovation and efficiency of training activities in 2018 and the years afterward.
Mr. Tong Dang Hung, Vice Dean of Public Servant Training Faculty presented the report on the training activities of 2017 and giving training recommendations for 2018. In 2017, NAPA organized 163 courses for 9,683 students under the framework of various training programs, including rank-based training (training for specialists, principal specialists, senior specialists), position-based training, foundation training for Master Training Program, training on administration of an enterprise.Representatives of faculties and departments actively discussed renovation of NAPA training activities in the new context and pointed out various solutions for better training delivery concerning organizational structure, regulations, training curriculum, IT application in training and studying, training management financial mechanism, etc.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan concluded important issues about public servant training delivery, emphasizing delivering various training programs in accordance with the Government Decree on public servant training, tailor-made training, especially training courses for foreigners, inviting prominent visiting lecturers and experts.
