On April 11th 2017, National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) and Kazakhstan Embassy to Vietnam organized the seminar “Governance of Kazakhstan and its implications to Vietnam”
Presented in the seminar were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Kiem Thanh, NAPA Vice President; Mr. Beketzhan Zhumakhanov, Kazakhstan Ambassador to Vietnam; Mr. Medet Makulzhanov, Counsellor of the Kazakhstan Embassy to Vietnam; Mr Aibek Smadiyarov, First Secretary of the Kazakhstan Embassy to Vietnam; Mr. Mukhtar Yskak, First Secretary of the Kazakhstan Embassy in Vietnam; staff, researchers and lecturers from Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) and NAPA.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Kiem Thanh emphasized that the cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan is closely linked to the reform process of the two countries. Since independence on December 16th 1991, Kazakhstan has gone through a development process. The new economic policy “the Bright Road” aimes to make Kazakhstan become one of the 30 most developed countries of the world in 2050. After 25 years of reform and development, Kazakhstan gained many achievements but there were still issues that need to be dealt with in order to maintain fast and sustainable development. He believed the Seminar is a forum for Kazakhstan professionals and NAPA staff, lecturers to exchange Kazakhstan experience in governance and its implications in teaching and researching public administration in Vietnam.
Mr. Beketzhan Zhumakhanov, Kazakhstan Ambassador to Vietnam thanked the cooperation of NAPA, especially in organization of the Seminar as well as the cooperation between NAPA and Kazakhstan partners. He spent time briefly introducing Kazakhstan, a country which currently under a modernization, reform and development process while maintaining sustainable development as well as the great value of society such as ethnic diversity and multiculture.
The seminar had two sessions including Vietnam – Kazakhstan relationship: 25 years looking back and Kazakhstan Governance: experience and achievement. During the seminar, Kazakhstan professionals, NAPA lecturers and researchers presented goals and achievements of the cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan; the similarity in culture between the two countries; major reforms and governance process in Kazakhstan. Seminar participants also discussed to draw useful implications for Vietnam.
At the end of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Kiem Thanh appreciated seminar results which provide NAPA inputs for teaching and researching at NAPA.
