On May 5th 2020, NAPA held the Opening Ceremony of the senior civil service training – firstcohort in 2020. Attending the event was Dr. Vu Thanh Xuan – NAPA Vice President, Ms. Le Phuong Thuy – Deputy Director of Refresher Training Management Department, NAPA faculties and administrators, and the course participants.

At his opening speech, Dr. Vu Thanh Xuanstated the course participants will be provided withadvanced knowledge of the state and law, administrative sciences, public policy, public management, organizationand personnel management, and professional skills to perform their duties better as senior officialsin response to the requirements of the public administration reform and international integration. The senior civil service training course consists of 18 training modules, 04 thematic presentations,and 01 field trip. Course participants are required to develop a project proposal at the end of the training. The senior civil service training is the prescribed conditions for participation in thecivil service rank promotion examand appointment to the senior civil service rank.It is carried out as an effort to realize the guideline of Communist Party of Vietnam on personnel work and the Government Decrees on training prior appointment to the leadership and management positions to develop a contingent of professional, active, creative public officers and enhance the human resources in both central and local agencies.
He emphasized although the Covid-19 epidemic has beenalready under control, all the participants should seriously comply with the Directive No. 19 / CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on measures to prevent and control the epidemic in the new situation during their study at NAPA.

Speaking on behalf of the course participants at the opening ceremony, Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh – Deputy Director, Department of Foreign Affairs of Thai Nguyen, affirmed the compliance with the training rules and expressed commitment to active participation and self-study in the training.
