The 2022 EROPA Conference received nearly 130 articles, published in the Conference proceedings, with nearly 40 reports being presented and discussed at the Conference sessions. During the two-day Conference, the scholars and participants exchanged, discussed, and clarified many theoretical and practical issues associated with the Conference theme. Practitioners have shared their insights from different approaches and levels. This has provided researchers and scholars with more practical experience and valuable documents on public administration and governance in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic requiring innovation and reforms in managing global changes.
During the plenary session, the Conference participants discussed common issues on regional and global integration; transparency, accountability and private sector involvement
in state governance; digital transformation and governance; the futures of civil service under the Covid-19 pandemic; governance and public administration reforms; local leadership and governance; governance and competition, etc. These are the basics and foundations to lead and guide in-depth discussions in seven sub-themes of the Conference.
In the sessions under each sub-theme, the Conference issues were reviewed and evaluated on many different levels, i.e. from micro to macro, from local to national and regional levels, in the areas relating to governance and public administration in the future, with changes coming from the EROPA members themselves. The multi-faceted, multi-level assessment has allowed approaching governance and public administration more fully and systematically in relation to the context of regional and international integration.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Dang Que, NAPA Executive Vice President and Vice-Chair of the EROPA Executive Council, warmly congratulated the success of the Conference and acknowledged the host country Nepal for generously hosting this year’s event.
