On September 13th, 2021, the People’s Committee of Lang Ha Ward, Dong Da District and Monk Thich Dai Thang, a representative of Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha, organized a gift-giving ceremony to support Lao students studying at NAPA during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Attending the ceremony, on the side of the authorities was Monk Thich Dai Thang, the representative of Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha; Mr. Do Trong Nam, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Da District; Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Secretary of the Party Committee of Lang Ha Ward; Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Ha Ward; and other representatives of the Sub-quarter No.1, Lang Ha ward, Dong Da district. On the side of NAPA was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hau, Chief of Office; Ms. Dang Thi Bich Thuy, Deputy Chief of Office; other representatives from functional units of the Office of NAPA; Ms. Hoa Vang, Head of the Lao Student Association at NAPA , and others Lao students.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hau, Chief of Office of NAPA, expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Dong Da district and Lang Ha ward, Monk Thich Dai Thang and Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha for their consideration to NAPA’s Lao students. In the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic which affects all aspects of social life, especially during the period of implementing social distance in Hanoi under Directive No. 16 dated in March the 31st, 2020 of the Prime Minister, the sharing and support of the Party Committee, the leaders of Dong Da district and Lang Ha ward, the concern of Monk Thich Dai Thang, particularly the organization of vaccination against Covid-19 for all Lao students studying at NAPA of the authority of the Sub-quarter No.1 have given the Lao students motivations to overcome the difficulties caused by the pandemic. These activities show the strong solidarity between the two countries not only in activities of high levels but also in specific activities in the locality.
Recently, Dong Da district has been one of the COVID 19 hotspots in Ha Noi. However, with the participation of the entire political system of the district and the support of central government and the city authority, the situation has been basically controlled. On behalf of the leaders of Dong Da district, Mr. Do Trong Nam expressed his sympathy with the difficulties that the Lao students encountered these days. He stated that the gifts were small, however, they conveyed the consideration of the local authority for the students. He expected the Lao students to well comply with NAPA’s, the district’s and the city’s regulations on Covid-19 prevention.
