Vice Minister of Home Affairs Truong Hai Long works with the delegation from the French Ministry for Public Servants, Simplification and Transformation of Public Action

On October 9, 2024, at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) headquarters, Vice Minister Truong Hai Long welcomed a delegation of experts from the French Ministry for Public Servants, Simplification and Transformation of Public Action, led by Mr. Romain Busuttil, Deputy Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the French Embassy in Ha Noi.

Also in attendance were Mr. Vu Dang Minh, Chief of the Office of MoHA; Mr. Chu Tuan Tu, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ninh, Director General of the Department of Civil Servants and Public Employees; Mr. Vu Hai Nam, Director General of the Department of Organization and Staffing; and others.

At the meeting, Vice Minister Truong Hai Long expressed his pleasure in receiving the delegation of experts from the French Ministry for Public Servants, Simplification and Transformation of Public Action. He emphasized that, within the framework of the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and France, the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs has been actively and proactively participating in public service cooperation and public administration reform. The Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs and the French Ministry for Public Servants, Simplification and Transformation of Public Action signed a Cooperation Agreement on public service and administrative modernization for the 2022-2025 period. Over the past three years of cooperation, significant and comprehensive achievements have been made in building the state administrative apparatus.

He shared that on October 4, in the French Republic, the Vietnamese Minister of Home Affairs, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, held bilateral talks with Mr. Guillaume Kasbarian, Minister for Public Servants, Simplification and Transformation of Public Action of the French Republic. Following the discussions, the two ministers agreed to sign an Administrative Agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs and the French Ministry for Public Servants, Simplification and Transformation of Public Action. This agreement, covering the 2025-2028 period, focuses on cooperation in public service and administrative modernization. The agreement aims to strengthen the exchange of experiences and best practices in public governance between Viet Nam and France while also outlining future cooperation directions and identifying practical collaborative activities that will benefit both ministries.

During the meeting, Mr. Romain Busuttil, Deputy Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the French Embassy in Ha Noi, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception by the Vietnamese MoHA and Vice Minister Truong Hai Long. He expressed satisfaction with the positive outcomes of recent cooperation between the two ministries, particularly in public service and public administration. He emphasized the significance of continued collaboration in exchanging experiences and best practices in public governance, especially as Viet Nam and France have upgraded their bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, highlighted during the official visit to France by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam from October 6-7.
