On April 12th 2017, National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) organized Laos New Year celebration, Bunpimay. Many NAPA students and Laos students participated in the celebration.
On behalf of NAPA leaders, staff and lecturers, Dr. Le Nhu Thanh, NAPA Permanent Vice President wished Laos student a happy traditional new year of 2017. Presented in the celebration were Mr. Phomma Sitsena, Envoy, Laos Embassy to Vietnam; Mr. Bunleua, Second Secretary, Laos Embassy to Vietnam; Representatives from Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Central Committee for Education and Communication, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security; NAPA staff, lecturers and students.
Dr. Le Nhu Thanh stated that Vietnam is proud of the relationship between Vietnam and Laos. NAPA also has the honor to provide training for civil servants of Laos Government based on the agreements signed between the two Governments. Each year, NAPA provide degree training programs for approximately 100 officials from middle to high ranking ranging from bachelor to doctor level. It is a proof of the special friendship and solidarity between the two Parties, the two States and the peoples of Vietnam and Laos. Most Laos students trained at NAPA have effectively applied the gained knowledge to their working practice and contribute to the socio-economic development of Laos.
On the occasion of the Laos new year, Bunpimay, Dr. Le Nhu Thanh wished Laos students good health and good study and hoped they will contribute to the development of Laos, make their country stronger, richer and more beautiful, and tighten the relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
Mr. Phomma Sitsena thanked NAPA for the warm reception and the support to Laos students by providing the most favorable condition for their study. He also emphasized that Vietnam’s support, especially in training Laos officialsis, is essential for Laos’s achievements in the recent years. This year Bunpimay festival will commemorate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 5th 1962) and the 40th anniversary of the signing ceremony on Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (July18th 1977) between Laos and Vietnam.
On behalf of Laos students, Paythun Matthuvong thanked NAPA leaders, lecturers for the support and organization of Bunpimay celebration. Although Laos students didn’t have the opportunity to spend Bunpimay festival at their home country, they still feel the warm and happy atmosphere of their traditional new year in Vietnam. He also promised to make effort in studying in order to contribute to the development of Laos as well as strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
At the celebration, many Laos traditional activities including water splashing, tying the wrist, musics performance, dancing were organized in a happy and warm atmosphere of a new year.
