Workshop “Asset and Income Control in Viet Nam Today”

On June 12, 2024, at NAPA Headquarters in Ha Noi, the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) held a workshop on “Asset and Income Control in Viet Nam Today”. The workshop was conducted both in-person and online at NAPA campuses in Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Nam Province, and Dak Lak Province.

The workshop was attended by scholars from the University of Law, Vietnam National University (VNU), Ha Noi; the Inspectorate Strategy and Science Institute; the Department of Criminal and Administrative Legislation, Ministry of Justice; the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Home Affairs; the Inspectorate of Vinh Phuc Province; the Inspectorate of Khanh Hoa Province; as well as leaders from various NAPA departments and NAPA lecturers, PhD candidates, trainees, and students.

The workshop received active participation and contributions from managers and scientists from research institutions and state management agencies inside and outside NAPA. The discussions aimed to clarify topics such as: i) Identifying theoretical issues on asset and income control; ii) International experiences in asset and income control and suggestions for improving policies and laws in Viet Nam; iii) Evaluating the current legal status on asset and income control and the legal issues arising in the context of national governance innovation towards modernity and efficiency.

Concluding the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Dieu Oanh expressed sincere thanks for the active contributions and discussions presented by the scientists during the workshop, along with the 27 papers included in the workshop proceedings. The presentations, papers, and contributions from the esteemed delegates, experts, scientists, and participants at the workshop will significantly contribute to a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the legal issues in improving policies and laws on asset and income control. This, in turn, will enhance the quality of teaching and academic research of the lecturers in the Faculty of State and Law in particular and NAPA in general.
