On December 20th 2018, the Institute of Administrative Studies of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) organized a workshop on “Orientations of the Strategy for Science and Technology Development of NAPA by 2025, vision to 2035 and review of the activities of the Science and Training Council in the year 2018” Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan, NAPA President, Chairman of the Science and Training Council and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong, NAPA Vice President co-chaired the workshop.
Presented at the workshop were Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien, Former Vice Minister of Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Former NAPA President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Van Tat Thu, Former Vice Minister of MOHA; Ms. Nguyen Huyen Hanh, Deputy Director of Institute for State Organizational Sciences, MOHA; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai, Deputy Director of Institute for Scientific Information, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. From NAPA side, there were members of the Science and Training Council, NAPA scholars, lecturers., mangers, and staff.
In the opening speech, Dr. Dang Xuan Hoan, NAPA President emphasized scientific research contributes to NAPA’s training quality ,improving the training curriculum and materials for training programs of NAPA.
Dr. Dang Thanh Le, Director of NAPA Institute of Administrative Studies reported on activities of the Institute of Administrative Studies from 2010 to 2018 and summarized the activities of Science and Training Council in the year 2018.
Dr. Nguyen Minh San, Deputy Director of NAPA Institute of Administrative delivered a speech on “Orientations of the Strategy on Science and Technology Development of NAPA by 2025, vision to 2035”.
At the workshop, participants discussed how to enhance NAPA’s roles as a national center for administrative studies to meet the nation-wide demand for training and research; how to formulate and implement the Strategy for Science and Technology Development to affirm the position of NAPA as an adviser for MOHA on Administrative Science and developer of Administrative human resources. Research is the core task of NAPA and must be linked with training. NAPA is a special non-business unit and improving the training is a must. A Strategy for Science and Technology Development of NAPA should be developed. At the end of the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong, NAPA Vice President wrapped up all suggestions which is to focus on scientific research activities, improvement of research to meet the training requirements, and expansion of international cooperation in research.
